Howdo is a personal language-learning app built to work entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data — about you or anyone else. There is no server, no account, and no login.
To make the app work, it saves the following only on your device, using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData):
This information stays on your device, is not accessible to us, and is not backed up to any server we control. (If you have iCloud device backup enabled, your iPhone's normal backup is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy — not by us.)
With your permission, the app uses your microphone so you can practice speaking.
Audio playback of phrases uses Apple's on-device text-to-speech voices. No data is sent anywhere to generate it.
If you turn on the optional daily review reminder, the notification is scheduled locally on your device. There is no remote server sending you notifications. You can turn reminders off any time in the app's Settings, or in iOS Settings.
The app collects no data from anyone, including children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), because it does not collect personal information at all.
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. Apple operates the underlying device features (on-device speech recognition, text-to-speech, local notifications) and, if you choose to rate the app, the App Store rating prompt — all governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
